Introduction to Flash

Adobe Flash

Includes simple vector-based drawing tools, animations with audio and video capabilities, and basic to very complex interactive effects.

Flash can be compared to a Movie. Some of the terms in Flash are similar to movie-making terms such as: movie, stage, and motion.

A Flash animation is a called a MOVIE which includes scenes, objects, effects and actions that make up a final animation.

The work area of a Flash animations is called the STAGE. Objects are placed on the stage in layers. This allows for overlapping as well as keeping animated elements separate.

The first layer is known as the background which is visible throughout the whole scene.

The MOTION of the movie is dependent on the frames and timeline. This is where the interface of the animation can be seen. A frame is a single piece of the timeline like a frame in a motion picture.
